The Neues Schloss or New Castle in Baden-Baden, Germany – the former residence of the Margraves of Baden.
The New Castle on the Florentine mountain was the official residence of Baden’s margraves until the end of the 17th century. After its destruction by the French in the War of the Spanish Succession, margrave Ludwig Wilhelm moved the government’s seat to Rastatt and built a new residence – the Castle of Rastatt.

In the early 18th century the New Castle was rebuilt and in the 19th century its primary use was as a summer residence of the grand dukes. This time the state rooms were decorated in the Renaissance style.
Today, the building being in private hands (the Kuwaiti Al Hassawi Group), it is not possible to visit either the castle or its gardens.
